Flooring Services in Indianapolis: What We Actually Install
Hardwood, LVP, laminate, carpet, commercial - here is what each of our flooring services covers and which room each one is built for.
When people search for flooring services in Indianapolis they usually get a wall of generic ads and no real answer about what a company installs or how they work. This is the straight version. TFPros is a family-owned installer based in Franklin Township on the southeast side, and every floor below is handled start to finish by our own in-house crew - the same people who measure your home remove the old floor, prep the subfloor, and lay the new one. Here is what each service covers and where it fits.
Hardwood flooring
Solid 3/4-inch hardwood is the long-game floor. White oak, red oak, hickory, cherry, and maple in pre-finished planks that carry a factory aluminum-oxide finish and can be sanded back and renewed years down the road. It belongs above grade in living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, and staircases - the rooms buyers walk into first and the finish that still reads as the gold standard for resale across the metro.
Standard species install in about two weeks; a custom reclaimed-wood floor runs on a longer build. We bring the full species and color line to your kitchen table so you can hold the exact plank against your cabinets and trim before you commit.
Luxury vinyl plank and vinyl
Luxury vinyl plank is the most-installed floor in Indianapolis right now, and for good reason: it is 100% waterproof, scratch-resistant under dog claws, and hard to tell from real wood at arm's length. It clicks together as a floating floor with no glue and no acclimation, so a room is usually done in a day. That makes it the default for kitchens, mudrooms, baths, and full main floors in busy households.
For budget-driven projects - rentals, basements, a quick refresh - standard vinyl plank delivers the same waterproof, wood-look surface at a lower price point. Both start with a properly prepped subfloor, because vinyl telegraphs every bump underneath it if the prep is skipped.
Waterproof laminate
Modern waterproof laminate sits between LVP and hardwood on look and toughness. The premium lines use an AC4 or AC5 commercial-grade wear layer and embossed-in-register texture, so the grain you feel lines up with the grain you see. It shrugs off scratches better than bargain vinyl and handles the puddle that did not get wiped up in time, which is why it lands in mudrooms, hallways, and kids' rooms.
Carpet installation
Bedrooms, theater rooms, stairs, and finished basements still want something soft and quiet underfoot. We install premium and designer carpet on an upgraded 8 lb pad as standard, with furniture moving and old-carpet removal built into the quote. Modern stain-resistant fibers handle pets and kids far better than the carpet most people picture.
Engineered hardwood and commercial floors
Engineered hardwood puts a real sawn-wood wear layer on a stable plywood core, so you get genuine wood in places solid planks would warp - finished basements, concrete slabs, and radiant-heat builds. On the commercial side we run after-hours and weekend installs for offices, retail, restaurants, and multi-family properties, with COIs and lien waivers as standard paperwork so your business never has to close.
Not sure which of these fits your home? That is what the free in-home design consultation is for - we look at the actual rooms, how you live in them, and your budget, then recommend honestly.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you use your own crew or subcontractors?
- Our own in-house crew handles every job start to finish - the same people who measure your home remove the old floor, prep the subfloor, and install the new one. We do not subcontract installs.
- How long does a typical flooring installation take?
- Most standard residential installs finish in about 1 to 2 weeks depending on the product, square footage, and how much subfloor prep the space needs. A single room of click-lock luxury vinyl or laminate is often done in a day.
- Which flooring service is right for my home?
- It depends on the room. Waterproof luxury vinyl or laminate suits kitchens, baths, and basements; hardwood and engineered hardwood fit living areas; carpet works best in bedrooms and theater rooms. We walk through it room by room during a free in-home consultation.
